The Technical College of Tehran University holding 80 years of precedence is the country's basis for Engineering and the mother to Iran industrial universities. The technical college , which is known today as "Pardis of Technical Colleges " has 11 faculties which Caspian Technical Faculty is one of those 11 faculties .
The Caspian Technical Faculty was established in 1996-97 by the support of the Ministry of Industries and Mines in Sharak-e-Vali-e-Asr in Rezvanshahr city, Guilan province with the aim of reducing the gap between developed and deprived regions and reinforcing the industry and university rear to Iran's wood and paper industries (Chouka). It started its activity officially in the 1st semester of educational year 1996-1997 by admission of 26 students in the field of Chemistry Engineering –cellulose industry.
Nowadays and after several years of successful educational and research activities and having several brilliant achievements, the Caspian Technical Faculty admits student in three fields of chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, and Polymer engineering in B.Sc. level and chemical engineering-separation processes in M.Sc. level . with performed plans in compiled managing plan , by having 30 year of past in educational and research activities and 37 faculty members and 780 students in all the educational levels ; classic, intergroup, and trans-disciplinary fields related to energy and modern technologies, Caspian Technical Faculty is going to be known as one of the eleven specialized Pardis Faculties of Technical Colleges and the scientific pole of energy and sustained technologies throughout the country by the year of 2025.
Admission of students in this faculty is merely performed based on the result of national exam of Konkour in all of the educational levels and the admitted bursary/scholarship students in this system are conscripted to the regulations of tuition free study in universities and higher governmental education institutes under the supervision of Ministry of Science, Research and Technology.
